Do you cloak your affiliate links?
« on: August 07, 2014, 05:45:25 PM »
For the past year, I have been experimenting with affiliate marketing and always found better results when I cloaked my affiliate links.   And, I have found that most of my readers won't click on uncloaked links. Not sure what the logic is there, since I have to monetize my blog in some way.  Don't they understand this?

If I mouse over a link and see that it's an affiliate link, then it discredits whatever the person is saying as they have a money motive to be so excited or happy about the product they are endorsing.  Though there are some instances where a blogger might already use a product and love it, but then affiliate so their endorsement can equal money made on sales, most times the person is just promoting the item not having ever tried it.
