Will social networking evolve?
« on: June 22, 2011, 05:27:37 PM »
I know myspace is one of those social networking sites that we used but have since forgotten. I wonder what social networking will become in the future. Do you guys think myspace will disappear and Facebook will follow? I have this feeling that the next best social networking site is on the way, just not sure how it's going to play out.

I do think that the whole Facebook thing could fizzle out eventually, but they do have a stronger system than what myspace did. They have an open game platform, so new interesting games are constantly churned out.

I don't tink Facebook will completely die out, it has such a strong hold on the market right now.

There's just too much money in it for everyone. No end in sight!

Purely responding to the topic, I am confident that social networking will become something much different in the near future. Look how much it's changed already!

Yeah I can see facebook lasting longer than how long Myspace lasted. Personally I wouldn't mind keeping it around forever, but there's bound to be an innovative website in the future. Wonder what it'll be like. ;)

I think in future one will have to be using social media more than today to keep themselves in the business...

I believe social networking will always be around, but I have a feeling something new will take it's place.  Something always takes the most current trends place.  It's like forums, several years ago, forums were incredibly active but that activity mostly went down due to social networking.

I think Facebook will still be around for years to come until the next big thing comes out, probably some next gen social network. The concept of social networking will never die out, only the sites that let people do that will.

Facebook is nearing it's peak in my opinion. The next big thing is just round the corner, though I'm unsure of what it will be like. Facebook still has a few more years left in her, but for just now I'll be marketing happily away with Facebook.

Social networks will evolve, but Facebook will evolve with then: It will be around for the years to come.

Social networking can evolve without a brand dying out though - facebook will remain important, but even now we see sites such as twitter pushing them in different ways. It's merely a case of finding the niche - maybe more to do with location "Checking in"?
